Alfonso Miranda Eyzaguirre
Director of the Fisheries & Aquaculture Commission of the SNI (Peru)

Alfonso Miranda Eyzaguirre graduated in Business Administration at the University of Lima, and Senior Management Program at the University of Piura, both in Peru.

 

With more than 30 years of experience within the fishing sector, Miranda has held managing positions in fishing fleets, shipyards, the fishmeal and fish oil industry, and the canned and frozen sector. From 2001 to 2004 he was President at the National Fishing Technology Institute, and Vice Minister from 2004 until 2009.

 

Miranda has also worked as the Secretary General of the National Society of Fisheries and President at the boatowner association of new fishing vessels (AANEP). He is currently the Director of the National Society of Industries of Peru (SNI) and President of the Fishing and Aquaculture Committee, also within SNI. In the international sector, he was president of the ICCAT in 2004, where nowadays he is the President of the Capacity Group and Vice President. He is also president at the recently launched Committee for Sustainable Management of the Southern Pacific Jumbo Flying Squid (CALAMASUR).

 

In the sports field, he has been president of the SIPESA Sports Club and Director at the Peruvian Volleyball Federation.
